The Book Behind StoryOS
Echoes was also an experiment.
I wanted to see whether AI could help create a complete novel without losing track of characters, locations, timelines, mysteries, relationships, reader knowledge, character knowledge, story arcs, and hundreds of other small details along the way.
That experiment became StoryOS.
Instead of treating a novel as one enormous prompt, StoryOS treats it as a structured system of knowledge:
- characters and relationships
- scenes and story arcs
- locations and calendars
- mysteries and questions
- symbols and recurring elements
- reader knowledge and character knowledge
- research and canonical story facts
- prose style and character voice
AI agents can then work against that shared source system to help plan scenes, write chapters, review continuity, edit prose, generate translations, create illustration prompts, build an audiobook, and produce publication-ready outputs.
Write Your Own Book with StoryOS
In October and November 2026 I am running a one-time StoryOS Cohort.
This is not a writing masterclass. It is a hands-on AI automation cohort focused on building your own book with StoryOS.
Over eight weeks we will work from an initial idea through story design, characters, world building, scene planning, drafting, editing, audiobook generation, EPUB/PDF production, images, and publishing.

Format: 8 weekly live sessions + recordings and cohort discussion
This is planned as a one-time cohort. I do not plan to repeat it.

The interesting part for me was not simply whether AI could write prose.
It was whether I could build a system that lets a human remain in control of the story while AI handles more and more of the mechanical work underneath.
